The Detective Is Already Dead (探偵はもう 、死んでいる。 Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru.?); abbreviated as Tanmoshi (たんもし), is the manga adaptation of the light novel series of the same name, written by Nigozyu and illustrated by Mugiko.
It was serialized in Media Factory's seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive from May 27, 2020 to October 27, 2023.[1][2] It covers the Volume 1 and Volume 3 of the light novel series. The manga has been licensed in English by Yen Press.[3]
A second manga adaptation by Poni titled The Detective Is Already Dead: the lost memory (探偵はもう、死んでいる。-the lost memory- Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru. -the lost memory-?) has also been serialized in Monthly Comic Alive since January 27, 2021. This manga series covers the Volume 2 of the light novel series.
Synopsis[]
ただひとり生き残った俺と、探偵の遺志が紡ぐまだ終わらない物語。
平凡な高校生の俺・君塚君彦は
完全無欠に巻き込まれ体質で、ハイジャックされた飛行機の中で
出逢った天使のように美しい探偵の少女・シエスタの助手となったのだ。
名探偵と助手は三年間にも及ぶ目も眩むような冒険劇を繰り広げ――
